START DATE: April 15, 2024 to July 31, 2024

THE OPPORTUNITY
YES Prep needs a dynamic Temporary Staffing Coordinator with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice. This role will be a hybrid work setting in which a large portion of the work will be virtual work with one in person day per work to support Hiring Events either at campuses or various locations in Houston.
To put it simply, you will support the Campus Staffing team during the Spring 2024 hiring season.
THE ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
Hiring
- Managing job postings and cross functional team communications to ensure candidates are regularly updated on their status and requisitions are closed out to ensure 98% staffed by August 1.
- Providing Business Partners and Staffing Directors with support throughout the hiring process;
- Reflecting on the Campus hiring process and providing ideas and feedback that improve the efficiency and quality of the candidate and hiring manager experience;
- Executing the logistics of the hiring process with fidelity to ensure that 99% instructionally staffed by Aug. 1, 2024
- Supporting Hiring Event planning as well as execution on the day of the events for various events throughout the Spring and Summer
Administrative Work
- Screening candidates for all open campus based positions;
- Supporting with responding to inquiries in the YES Prep Careers and YES Prep Talent inbox;
- Developing, editing, and filing critical human resources documents;
- Assisting the Director of Staffing with critical projects;
Communications
- Using existing communication systems to keep the Director of Staffing, Business Partners, and Recruiters aware of staffing needs and progress on projects;
- Maintaining all communication systems related to campus hiring;
- Updating cross functional teams on selection and hiring progress so they can effectively plan for the remainder of the school year and next school year
Being a Resource
- Referring managers and staff on HR policies (as explained in the Employee Handbook) and to internal HR resources that impact and drive their work. Resources include, but are not limited to, Talent Management, ADA, FMLA, and evaluative resources;
Additional duties as assigned.

MUST HAVES
- Bachelor's Degree or 5 years professional experience in human resource, administrative, or operations focused role
- Minimum of 1 yr. of professional experience in a human resource, administrative, or operations focused role
- Ability to work in person at least one day per week for Hiring Events
- Comfort using computer application systems and programs
- Strong ability to develop and implement personal, organization systems
- Self-starter who is hungry to grow and learn in an HR professional setting
- Effective communicator in both written and oral form, with excellent clarity and grammar
- Attention to detail and thoroughly checks work products
- Doesn’t spill the beans on the highest level of confidential matters
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Demonstrated ability to work on a team

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Experience with Human Resources, Benefits, or Payroll systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and other Microsoft programs
- Experience with Jobvite ATS

- Compensation – This position is a temporary, non-exempt, hourly position; hourly rates commensurate with experience.
