THE
ROLE


The
YES Prep Leadership Pathway was created to ensure we are providing leaders with a compelling vision for their continued growth at YES Prep, and to guarantee that we have a strong internal pipeline for talent as we expand and respond to staffing challenges that impact the YES Prep experience for students, families, and staff.

The YES Prep Leadership Pathway exists to pave a compelling path of growth for campus-based leaders, to ensure that we are building an internal bench of high-performing talent. Leaders on the Pathway have access to aligned training, development, coaching, and evaluation, and can use these tools to chart a path of career growth within our organization and beyond.

This residency is a developmental role between manager and director levels. Residents are hired centrally and will have access to the same onboarding and year-long development as Directors who are in their first year of the role. Residents will be placed under the guidance of a Home Office manager while being campus-based under the mentorship of a campus-based Lead Director to shadow and for 1:1 coaching aligned to the YES Prep Leadership Competencies.

  • Oriented toward agility and flexible regarding work location (ready and willing to be placed at any campus, ready to be considered for mid-year vacancies, understands that on-site manager may change in the middle of the school year)
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
  • Responsible for learning the systems, processes and procedures necessary to serve as a Director of Campus Operations;
  • Participate in extensive professional development and training to become knowledgeable in all responsibilities and duties listed below;
  • Utilize opportunities to manage the day-to-day operations of existing schools;
  • Provide support and assistance to campuses on an as needed basis by stepping in to serve as a member of the operations team;
  • Participate in, or lead, special projects as assigned for the Home Office Operations Team;
  • If placed into a campus operations role, you can be expected to do all of the following:
  • Provide and/or supervise required reports for all school operations including, but not limited to, enrollment, attendance, funds accounting, payroll, meals and transportation;
  • Manage daily administrative operations including establishing work priorities and assisting in resolving problems related to day-to-day operations schools;
  • Aid School Directors in the development and implementation of school Master Schedules;
  • Maintain the entire office, including reception, storage rooms, conference rooms, and other common areas;
  • Maintain office security: administration of security passes and I.D. badges provided to all employees and students;
  • If applicable to role, manage campus operating budget;
  • Oversee, coordinate, maintain, and/or process payroll time sheets, sick and annual leave documents, travel reimbursements, purchasing documents, and/or employment documents for school based faculty and staff;
  • Oversee the maintenance of school-based records;
  • Ensure all classes and duties are covered when staff members do not report to work;
  • Supervise the school’s auxiliary services – transportation, food service, and vendor relationships;
  • Maintain and and/or supervise cash receipts and disbursement journals;
  • Manage and inspect the use of the YES plant and grounds, supervise the maintenance to the physical plant and grounds to ensure a clean, orderly, and safe environment;
  • Demonstrate trustworthiness in dealing with confidential matters;
  • Aid the Talent Support team in the acquisition and on-boarding of new employees and the exit of former employees
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • 2-3 years of business, operational, and/or managerial experience

THE PERKS
  • CompensationThis position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
