$109,971 - $134,714, Home Office grade 11

THE OPPORTUNITY

YES Prep needs a dynamic Managing Director of School Culture- Elementary with a diverse set of experiences, to make our mission a reality. As a YES Prep employee, you will achieve jaw-dropping results, create pathways to opportunity for our students, build transformative relationships, and eliminate educational inequities to advance social justice.

To put it simply, you will lead the YES Prep Culture Team to drive results for students, ensuring each child can learn and grow in supportive, inclusive environments that promote opportunity and a college ready education.


THE
ROLE
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
  • Driving a programmatic vision that strengthens the school culture at all YES Prep elementary schools by developing a positive, inclusive school community with consistent, high expectations;
  • Leading a team to respond to student data to implement strategic programming and supports;
  • Continuing to research, integrate, and implement a developmentally appropriate social-emotional learning framework that addresses the social, emotional, and behavioral needs of all students;
  • Managing and coaching a high-performing team of leaders driven to implement initiatives to improve student persistence, student discipline, student involvement, and academic performance;
  • Integrating the family and community experience into the experience of YES Prep students and campuses;
  • Designing and executing the core components of the YES Prep student experience (after-school programming, student opportunities, traditions and celebrations, culture events, etc.) that prepare all students for college success and choice-filled lives and ensure these opportunities are available for all YES Prep students;
  • Strengthening and increasing co-curricular opportunities for all students at all YES Prep schools;
  • Ensuring the execution of the process of evaluating the YES Prep Code of Conduct and provide recommendations to develop student discipline structures that reflect YES Prep values for restorative practices and interventions to support all students;
  • Partnering with community organizations and external stakeholders to increase student programming aligned with the YES Prep mission;
  • Managing the resources allocated to school culture programming with strong stewardship and strategic thought leadership around maximizing resources;
  • Serving as a resource to Principals and the Head of Schools team in the areas of student discipline, student persistence, and student social and emotional needs;
  • Additional duties as assigned.

THE MUST HAVES
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • 5 years of leadership in an elementary school context (on campus or district-level).
  • Knowledge and awareness of counseling and wellness services for adolescents.
  • Demonstrated success in leading school culture and implementation of related programming within a PK-5 space.
  • Exceptional skills in self-awareness, self-management, and relationship management.
  • Ability to lead a highly-effective team and get results through the work of others.
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools.
  • Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
  • Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment.

  • CompensationThis position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
  • Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20 hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
