YES Community Counseling Center is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator for the Massapequa Takes Action Coalition (MTAC). This is a five year grant funded position under the Drug Free Communities Grant. MTAC is an active and vital coalition in the community of Massapequa and Massapequa Park working to prevent and reduce youth substance misuse and to promote a healthy Massapequa. The full-time Coordinator will lead these efforts and work in collaboration with community partners dedicated to this mission including youth, parents, businesses, media, schools, youth serving organizations, law enforcement, civic/volunteer organizations, religious/fraternal organizations, healthcare professionals, state/local government, and substance abuse organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities of the MTAC Project Coordinator include:

• Facilitate monthly MTAC Coalition Meetings - organize agenda, maintain minutes and attendance
• Build coalition capacity across the Massapequa's through the coordination of trainings related to the Strategic Prevention Framework
• Facilitate the implementation MTAC's strategic work plan such as developing community partnerships, recruiting new coalition members, coordinating community Town Hall meetings and other coalition events, partnering with volunteers, youth, schools, and other youth serving organizations
• Provide leadership in planning and coordinating community and school based education and awareness events, media campaigns, and community/parent outreach
• Facilitate workshops and trainings at community and school forums surrounding MTAC's mission, work, and data driven outcomes
• Aid in the development of prevention and health promotion materials for website and social media campaigns; development of brochures, newsletters and other means of communication as determined by grant
• Prepare reports for federal and state agencies regarding program activities, budgets, outcomes, trainings, etc.
• Attend DFC trainings, state, and local prevention education programs to keep apprised of prevention research, practices and evidence-based approaches

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's or Bachelors Degree in Public Health, Social Work, Mental Health or School Counseling or related field with 1 ( ) years of experience working in a leadership role with community partners and/or community education and with youth

Amount of travel:

• Overnight travel and participation in DFC required National Coalition Academy Training, CADCA Leadership and Midyear Forums. Local travel to attend meetings, programs and prevention trainings

Salary:

$55,000 - $60,000, depending on experience and credentials
