Warehouse Forklift/Material Handler
Location: 999 Motor Parkway, Hauppauge, NY
1st shift (8:30-5:00 PM)
$21.65 - $26.95
Responsibilities
- Move material using a forklift, side loader, and overhead crane.
- Unload material from inbound supplier trucks and transfer to inventory locations.
- Load orders onto outbound common carrier trucks for delivery to customers.
- Assist customers with pick up orders.
- Pull sheet, plate, and metal bars from inventory according to work orders.
- Verify material sizes using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
- Accurately count and weigh material.
- Construct wood skids and cardboard boxes using tape measures, nail guns, and banding equipment.
- Operate bar saw, plate saw, and shear to cut material according to work order requirements.
- Clean saws according to maintenance procedures.
- Conduct in-process and last-piece inspections.
- Report inventory discrepancies.
- Assist with inventory cycle counting and audits.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Warehouse and forklift experience directly related to the duties of the position strongly preferred.
- Safety sensitive position. Must be able to safely operate powered industrial vehicles.
- Heavy lifting up 70 pounds.
- Ability to read and understand English.
- Basic arithmetic skills (calculate/convert decimals and fractions)
- Must be able to read and understand basic measurement functions (ruler, caliper, etc.)
- Team-oriented and dependable.
