Yale New Haven Hospital is seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our dynamic team within the Medicine Service Line. As a Registered Nurse in our hospital, you will have the opportunity to work in various specialized areas, each offering unique challenges and opportunities for professional growth. For example, our Medicine to MICU/SDU Pathway Program offers professional development opportunities for Nurses who aspire to be Critical Care Nurses in YNHH’s Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Step-Down Unit (SDU). As part of this program, Nurses engage in several learning and shadow experiences that prepare them for seamless transitions into critical care.

Nurse Residency Program:
Newly-licensed nurses, hired full or part-time, within 1 year of graduation and/or less than 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse will participate in the YNHHS Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program. This one-year Nurse Residency Program was developed by the Chief Nursing Officers of the University Health System Consortium (UHC), now Vizient, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) for new graduate nurses. Nurse Residents participate in monthly sessions with their cohort designed to assist in the transition from nursing student to acute care professional nurse.
