Job description

Bilingual Russian-English Immigration Paralegal

We are seeking a Bilingual Russian-English Immigration Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Asylum Cases. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting our legal team in providing exceptional immigration services to our diverse client base.

Responsibilities:

Assisting attorneys in preparing and filing asylum application and supporting documentation. Experience with court filing – is a plus.

Conducting thorough client interviews in both Russian and English to gather relevant information for case preparation.

Translating legal documents, correspondence, and forms between Russian and English accurately and efficiently.

Preparing and organizing case files, exhibits, and evidence for hearings and court appearances.

Liaising with clients, government agencies, to obtain necessary information and updates on case progress.

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case management records and databases.

Assisting in the preparation of clients for immigration court hearings and interviews.

Coordinating with external interpreters and translators, as needed.

Requirements:

Bilingual fluency in both Russian and English, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both languages.

A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an immigration paralegal, with a strong focus on asylum cases.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and translation.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and responsibility.

Sensitivity to cultural differences and the ability to work with diverse clients from various backgrounds.

A bachelor's degree in paralegal studies, criminal justice or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
