We are hiring for the 2024-2025 School Year!
Position Summary: This position is responsible for: various assigned duties that support the daily operations of the classroom or center. These assignments may include: bus monitor duties, meal service, and/or cleaning. This position also assists in providing a safe, healthy, stimulating learning environment that supports school readiness, in record-keeping and reporting; and in welcoming and engaging children and families with the guidance and direction from the Teacher.
Duties:
- Assist lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities for children
- Provide support and guidance to students in various subjects, including math and physical education
- Collaborate with lead teacher to create a safe and nurturing environment for children
- Assist with classroom management and behavior management strategies
- Support individual student needs and provide one-on-one tutoring when necessary
- Monitor student progress and communicate with parents or guardians as needed
- Assist with daily routines, including mealtime, naptime, and outdoor play
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Follow all child welfare guidelines and regulations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; AA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting
- Knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with children
- Ability to pass a background check - state and national; also complete required trainings in a timely manner upon hire.
-Ability/willingness to obtain a CDA within 18 months of hire.
