THE ROLE: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced “Manager of Supplier Risk Analysis and Mitigation Strategies” to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing risk analysis models and assessments of supplier-related risks and potential impacts, as well as project managing the execution of effective strategies to mitigate these risks across our supply chain. This role will collaborate with cross functional teams and key suppliers. Additionally, this position tracks trends, regulatory changes and provides reports to facilitate strategic decision making. This is a hybrid role with a global scope, preferably out of a Xylem manufacturing/office location.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

  • Develop and implement coherent risk analysis models to conduct comprehensive risk assessments of current and prospective suppliers, identifying potential vulnerabilities and areas of concern.
  • Make Business leaders aware of risk levels and agree on robust risk mitigation strategies tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the organization.
  • Utilize data analysis and evaluation techniques to identify trends, patterns, and emerging risks within the supplier base.
  • Enhance and broaden the quality of data sources to enrich our analytical models, contributing to more robust risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead efforts to automate data collection/input and streamline reporting for the organization.
  • Take the lead in conducting training sessions on risk management topics to enhance awareness and promote the adoption of risk mitigation initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, legal, operations, and finance, to align risk management efforts and integrate risk mitigation measures into existing processes.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established risk mitigation measures, conducting regular audits and assessments as needed.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in supplier risk management, incorporating relevant insights into the company's risk management approach.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on supplier risk management, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, to facilitate open communication and collaboration in managing risks effectively.
  • Stay up to date with the market and benchmark best practices, tools and processes to increase risk management effectiveness.
  • Prepare actionable analysis and reports to be presented to senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Engineering, or Business.
  • At least five years of related procurement and/or supply chain experience.
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to travel, maximum 20%.

The estimated salary range at this professional level is $115,000 to $158,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
