XRG Concepts, LLC is Hiring a Rating Field Inspector Near Rochester, MN

XRG Concepts is an independent organization providing building science related services for the residential building industry in Southern Minnesota, Northern Iowa and Western Wisconsin. XRG Concepts is looking to hire a Rating Field Inspector to assist in building science related performance testing and inspecting. This position is considered an entry-level full-time position and is anticipated to provide 30 to 40 hours per week.

Core Tasks/Expectations/Skills/Competencies

  • Demonstrate a high level of organization, detail-oriented, self-directed, efficient multi-tasking and flexible.
  • Willingness to learn and perform new tasks and duties.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Basic Knowledge of building science, residential energy efficiency, residential building construction and a capacity and desire to learn more.
  • Can conduct and have a basic understanding of the following building performance tasks: Blower door testing, Ventilation testing, Duct leakage testing, Combustion safety/analysis testing and Infrared camera scans.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of appointments as well as adapt to a flexible and unpredictable schedule.
  • Physical ability to work on ladders, in tight spaces (i.e. crawlspaces, attics, basements), climbing stairs, walking, squatting, kneeling, and driving.
  • Prepare punctual, clear, concise reports that communicate effectively to both home builders and homeowners.
  • Meet and communicate with both homeowners and home builders, in an educated, confident manner regarding building science related recommendations and analyses.

Experience/Education

  • Minimum of High School Diploma; Preferred Associates Degree or equivalent years of experience in residential construction and/or energy auditing/weatherization programs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Preferred Experience with: Adobe, Google Sketchup and Google Workspace.
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
