Supervisor, Shipping & Receiving

This position will pay based on experience; the range will be 45K-60K for the right candidate.

MUST BE BILINGUAL

MUST have Produce Industry Experience

$500 sign-on bonus

Job Objective

Responsible for all shipping and receiving functions at the assigned facility on the 2nd shift of the day (as assigned), including but not limited to preparation of goods and fruit for shipping, evaluation of fruit received and shipped, keeping current inventories of fruit and supplies and directing subordinate employees.

Essential Job Functions

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Ensure the trucks are loaded in order of arrival at the dock.
• Ensure that all bills of lading are filled out completely and signed by truck drivers.
• Contact local, county, and U.S.D.A. and arrange appointments for required export inspections.
• Oversee loading of all export containers to make sure T-bars and airbags are installed, and
• that Phyto and U.S.D.A. inspection reports are sent.
• Verify pack-out by variety and size.
• Conduct physical inventory by day code, variety, and size. Verify physical inventory with
• book inventory.
• Enter pack-out and inventories into the computer and keep a weekly inventory of pallets and
• stacking lock strips and placing orders as needed.
• Distribute copies of pack-out, inventory, and computer printouts to corporate.
• Send weekly reports to the Manager or Director of the facility of regular and overtime hours for the shipping department.
• Contact customers for standard and cull sales.
• Calculate timecards for each pay period.
• Maintain cleanliness of office and shipping dock areas.
• Inspect all incoming fruit for quality assurance, and complete appropriate inspection forms.
• Other duties and projects as assigned or required.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Must be flexible with schedule.
• Degree preferred but not required and / or a combination of education and work experience.
• Five years experience in shipping and inventory control in the Produce industry.
• Previous supervisory experience.
• Two years' of operating a forklift and a pallet jack; forklift certification preferred.
• Possess highly developed skills in organization, communication (verbal and written; both English and Spanish are required), problem resolution, and customer service skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Office software (Word, Excel Outlook); working knowledge of JDE and Kirkey is highly desired.
• Commitment to the company’s values and ethics.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to manipulate tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch and talk and hear, and climb stairs up and down.

The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Temperatures may vary due to time of year (summer, winter).

The employee must be able to endure periods in a refrigeration unit where the temperature is maintained at 50 degrees; employees are required to wear hats, gloves, and coats while in the refrigeration unit.

Schedule Overview :

• Mon - Fri, rotating weekends as necessary
• 2 : 00 pm - Finish
• Must work every other Saturday.

• Bilingual (preferred English / Spanish)
