XL Precision Technologies Inc is recruiting for Operator – Second Shift, located in West Chester, PA.

XL Precision Technologies Inc (XL-PT) is a subsidiary of XL Precision Technologies Ltd out of the UK. The parent company has been very successful in the medical device contract manufacturing sector and, with rapid growth in USA business, has opened a facility in West Chester, PA. We specialize in micro-components, primarily metal, utilizing laser, EDM and conventional machining capabilities. Our customers are spread across cardio-vascular, sports medicine, ophthalmology, orthodontics and endoscopy sectors.

The operator will be using CNC and manual equipment to produce a wide variety of parts and sub-assemblies. They will also perform various inspection operations and functional product tests. It is the responsibility of the Operator to ensure that all the products meet or exceed the established quality requirements in accordance to standard operating procedures, functional requirements specification and established company policies. The operator is also responsible for limited maintenance and daily set-up in accordance with the appropriate standard operation procedures and company quality guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Follows all pertinent company Standard Operation Procedures (SOP).
  • Reviews SOP to determine any special instruction.
  • Verifies the proper set-up for the item in production.
  • Labels the primary packaging.
  • Packages product into kits and shipping cartons.
  • Performs assembly and functional testing in accordance with SOPs and drawings.
  • Reconciles raw material issued to the shop order, accounting for any scrap, unused or non-conforming material.
  • Sorts defective products for rework, salvage, and scrap.
  • Monitors output of each machine to ensure that each machine is running properly, taking proper steps to resolve operating issues.
  • Checks and performs adjustments to equipment as outlined in machine operations SOP.
  • Starts up, operates, and shuts down equipment in line with company safety procedures for equipment under power.
  • Inspects and examines product for physical defects following SOP and established Visual Standards.
  • Tests for functional quality comparing the results to the SOP or drawing
  • Completes production reporting following company guidelines. Keeps record of time spent and material used.
  • Maintains an acceptable output average to specific production standard.

RELATED DUTIES:

Performs related work and other duties as required.

Maintains clean and safe working environment in line with company policies.

Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) for work being performed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Training and Experience

High school or high school equivalency diploma.

Minimum of 1 year of experience in machine operation and hand assembly

Experience in small components and packaging is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

Working knowledge of tools, inspection equipment, and work methods.

Ability to work independently, as well as within a team.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic computations.

Ability to read and understand SOPs and other policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Frequently required to walk, stand, sit and bend over, for extended periods of time.

Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Have normal eye/hand motor coordination and the ability to grasp small objects.

Possess a normal extended reach.

Have the ability to determine colors and possess near acuity.

Working Conditions

Climate controlled clean medical manufacturing environment with some variations in temperature, noise, and atmospheric conditions.
