XL CENTER is Hiring an Ice Resurfacer Driver Near Hartford, CT

POSITION PURPOSE:

Ice Resurfacer Drivers are responsible for maintaining ice quality to NHL standards through scheduled resurfacing and other assigned ice maintenance including but not limited to installation and deconstruction of the hockey ice surface. Member of AFSCME Local 1716.
Pay Rate: $17.52 - $18.44/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arrives for work on time for each scheduled shift, in uniform and ready to work.
Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to take both verbal and written direction.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis.
Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, kneel, stoop, climb stair, and reach/lift above head in conjunction with ice maintenance tasks.
Responsible for ice resurfacing, ice edging and overall ice quality.
Perform various general maintenance functions for equipment, including blade changes, exercising adequate judgment to ensure completion of tasks as assigned.
Assist in maintaining, cleaning and safety checking all machines, and areas surrounding as needed.
Monitor all refrigeration equipment, keep necessary records and logbooks on equipment, and inform the Ice Operations Manager if systems or equipment is malfunctioning.
Assist in cleaning up ice before and after events and setup game day ice crew area.
Works safely, quickly and efficiently to meet all deadlines.
Maintains a positive, outgoing demeanor.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
All other tasks assigned by Supervisor.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

Experience working in an ice rink setting, required
Comfortable in front of large crowds
Valid Driver’s License
2 years experience operating ice resurfacing equipment (e.g. Zamboni, Olympia, etc.), preferred
Previous experience with ice edger and forklift equipment, preferred
