XL CENTER is Hiring an Event Security (PT) Near Hartford, CT

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Event Security staff is responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors to the XL Center and Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field, as well as the security of restricted areas and the facilities in general.
Pay Rate: $16.00 - $16.25/hour

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arrives for shift on time, neatly groomed and in a clean, pressed, well-maintained uniform.
Screens guests as they enter the facility in accordance with the established standards.
Verifies credentials to ensure control of access into restricted areas.
Responds immediately and professionally to guest disturbances/incidents.
Secures the perimeter of ticketed areas.
Accurately and thoroughly completes all pertinent reports and documentation.
Effectively diffuse potentially volatile situations.
Works cooperatively with Guest Services staff and Local and State Police.
Interacts with guests in a polite and professional manner.
Answers guest questions in a knowledgeable and helpful manner.
Consistently enforces facility policies & procedures related to prohibited items, disruptive behavior, etc.
Performs other duties as required to the satisfaction of Supervisors and Management.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

Valid CT Guard Card, required.
Prior Customer Service Experience, preferred.
Excellent communication skills required, with thorough understanding of written and spoken English.
Knowledge and skill in radio communication.
Ability to listen effectively, take and execute directions, as given.
Ability to work at the arena in Hartford, CT and the stadium in East Hartford, CT.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to exercise sound judgement to diffuse volatile situations.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Ability to traverse a variety of terrain and floor surfaces including stairs, escalators, carpet, concrete.
Ability to work in heights, in darkened area, around crowds, loud noises and flashing lights.
Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environment and stressful situations.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions, as needed.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
