Purpose of Your Job Direct the operations of patient services to ensure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times in accordance with state and federal regulations, facility policies and procedures and patient directives. Provide leadership for the staff in the department in accordance with approved policies and procedures. Delegation of Authority As a Unit Charge Nurse, you are delegated the authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. The Unit Charge Nurse reports to the Clinical Care Supervisor, and is responsible for the direct supervision of Registered Long Term Care Nursing Assistants, Hospitality Aides, and Nursing Assistant Trainees.
Education and Experience Requirements Must be a graduate from an accredited school for licensed practical nurses or registered nurses and must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the state of West Virginia. License must be current, unencumbered, and active in the state of West Virginia. Must possess and maintain current CPR certification, or acquire a CPR certification within 90 days of date of hire.
