GENERAL DESCRIPTION :
The Wyoming Department of Corrections is committed to public safety and high correctional standards, as well as a safe, supportive working environment for our employees.
We are now seeking Correctional Officers for the Wyoming Women's Center in Lusk, Wyoming. The Wyoming Women’s Center (WWC) was established in .
It serves as a primary education and treatment center for female inmates. WWC provides programming, vocational, recreational, and educational programs to allow the WDOC to reduce recidivism through cognitive and behavioral intervention.
This position is essential for maintaining the institution's safety and security and is considered a Law Enforcement position receiving the 20-year retirement and state benefit package.
This is an entry-level position, and career / growth opportunities are available.

Must be at least 18 years of age,
Must be a U.S. Citizen,
Must have a valid driver's license
Must not have a felony or domestic violence conviction.

Education : High School Diploma or GED Experience : 0-1 year of progressive work experience in a Correctional Setting Certificates, Licenses, Registrations : None

Successful applicants for employment must pass a background / reference check, medical evaluation, and urinalysis drug test prior to appointment.

period and awarded Correctional Officer Certification by the Wyoming Peace Officers
Standards & Training (POST) Commission within one year of initial appointment.
