Primary Function: Team leader in basic nursing care under the supervision of a physician or mid-level in a dialysis outpatient health center

Basic Qualifications as stated in post

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Educates other staff on principles of hemodialysis and current techniques

-Acts as a liaison between patient, provider and staff

-Performs physical, psychological, and social assessment of patients

-Develops a written nursing care plan based on patient assessment and diagnosis

-Works directly under physicians, assisting during exams, diagnostic testing and teatments

-Implements medical nursing orders

-Establishes care priorities based on paitent problems

-Communicates pertinent patient information to the physician and other members of the health care team

-Evaluates the effectiveness of care delivered

-Updates care plans as indicated

-Records vital signs and documents care given

-Develops and implements a discharge plan for patients

-Provides patients and their families with health teaching

-Participates in and supports research programs

-Participates in nursing committees

-Performs tasks normally delegated to lower ranking nursing deparment employees, as directed

-Initiates hemodialysis treatments as ordered via catheter or cannulation of AVF or AVG

-Prepares staffing schedule including call

-Hires staff for center

-Prepares staff evaluations

-Overseas day to day center operations

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $101,014.16 - $108,546.30 per year
