Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician position available immediately in York, PA. We are looking to build our existing team! Our reputable Optometry Practice has been in operation since 1930 and has been under the current owner, Dr. Heather Lawrence, since 2004. The primary position is for an Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician, but experience in optical dispensary is a plus.

Qualifications include:

· Smiling – this position requires a great attitude and a smile at all times J

· Motivated, professional, responsible, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker

· Knowledge or an excitement to learn about the eye and eye health.

· Good communication skills with a friendly personality.

· Experience welcome, but happy to train the right candidate.

· Basic computer skills such as data entry, MS Office, etc.

Duties include:

· Assisting the doctor in providing medical eye care.

· Obtaining medical histories from patients

· Administering diagnostic tests

· Measuring and recording vision

· Providing contact lens education

The hours of our practice are M 7:30a – 4:00p, T 7:30a – 4:00p, W 8:30a – 8:00p, Th 7:30a – 4:00p F 7:30a – 5:00p

Job Type: Full time 32 to 34 hours per week

Salary: $15.00 to $17.00 hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience and skillset.
