General Description:
Under direct supervision, provides full performance level direct patient care to individuals admitted to a state-operated, adult psychiatric hospital. Assists in daily living activities, transporting patients within the hospital or on outside trips. Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output as directed. Ensures safety of patients by direct observation and re-direction of patients in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and practices. Other duties as assigned.
This is a tobacco free facility. Chosen applicants must successfully complete a chemical urinalysis and breath analysis drug screening test. All employees shall be subject to drug testing for probable cause as set forth in Agency and Bureau policies. Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Mandatory overtime is an essential function of this position. Candidates must successfully pass a background screening.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
Substitution Information: Additional education and experience may be substituted based on a year-for-year basis or as determined by the Office of Shared Administration Equivalency Chart.
