Wurth Revcar Fasteners, Inc., a global components distribution company with headquarters in Roanoke, VA is looking for a Branch Quality Specialist for our Roanoke, VA branch to review simple fastener drawings (nuts, bolts, washers, etc.) who understands applied specifications called out regarding material, chemical and mechanical requirements (ISO, ASME, ASTM etc. from the IFI book). This person must have the ability to set up inspections, determine gauging requirements for such inspections and be able to train on gauge usage, specifically ring gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc.

This person must be a naturalized American citizen, detail orientated, have strong reading and math skills and possess excellent communication skills. Promotional opportunities exist for the candidate that is successful in this position.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Reads and understands simple prints/drawings of fasteners (screws, nuts, washers, etc.) and pulls small samples of fasteners from manufacturer deliveries for inspection
• Data entry of inspection results into a software program
• Familiarizes self with the specifications of IFI (Industrial Fasteners Institute) and other standards and determines the application to specific parts
• Uses gauges such as Go/No Go ring gauges, Micrometers, Optical Comparator, etc. to perform frequent quality inspections of parts
• Assists the Quality Technician in customer quality issues through inspection of inventory.

Required Background

• High School diploma or equivalent - some college preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality
• Manufacturing background

Preferred Candidates will have

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 (any version)
• Experience in (internal) auditing
• Advanced Product Quality Planning background
• PPAP review experience
• Team problem-solving experience
• Strong gauge usage and calibration management
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Desire/ability to learn any/all skills needed
• American Society for Quality certification (Quality Tech)Background in metallurgy
