WSP is currently initiating a search for a Geotechnical Engineer for our Austin,Texas Office.

Your Impact

  • Planning, estimating, and conducting subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs in soil and rock
  • Performing geotechnical analyses and design of shallow and deep foundations, embankments/cuts, earth retaining systems, and tunnels for transit/transportation/highway projects
  • Preparing geotechnical memoranda, data and design reports
  • Providing geotechnical support during construction
  • Capable of using commercially available geotechnical software 
  • Perform field observations, logging, and overseeing field activities. 
  • Perform Pavement Design and Pavement Management 

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of geotechnical experience
  • Engineering-in Training (EIT) certificate
  • BS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures 
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Having Professional Engineer (PE) license. 
  • MS in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Engineering focus
  • Ability and willingness to travel for field work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of CAD and GIS systems

Computer/Software Skills:

  • Geotechnical: GeoStudio (SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, &QUAKE), LPILE, GROUP, SNAIL, MSEW, PLAXIS, DeepEX, Slides, gINT.
  • CAD: AutoCAD, MicroStation
