Our traffic team is growing, and we are looking to add a senior engineering specialist with experience in developing public and private agency projects.

What You Will Do: As an Engineering Specialist, you will

• Develop traffic design and construction documents for traffic signal, pedestrian facilities (ADA), roadway illumination, ITS, signing and pavement marking under the supervision of a registered professional engineer.
• Prepare and revise technical drawings for transportation projects.
• Provide work direction to and collaborate with Engineers in Training, graduate engineers, and other professional staff. 
• Perform traffic signal inspection.
• Assist in traffic signal timing development and implementation.
• Assist in developing traffic projections.
• Utilize drafting, GIS, and Microsoft Office software, as well as technology and devices like iPads.
• Actively participate in field walks with project managers and designers.

What You Will Bring: The successful candidate will have

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or similar degree from an accredited school.
• 20 years of experience with traffic engineering and related design packages.
• You will have the ability to prepare, read and understand construction plans and technical documents and have a strong understanding of design software packages, specifically Bentley products (Microstation, Open Roads Designer, Geopak).
• The ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• The desire to continually develop your technical skills.
• Candidates must have a valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong work ethic will allow you to excel in this position.
• Preferred: Experience with TxDOT projects.
• Preferred: IMSA and RAS certifications.
• Preferred: Experience with 3D Design.
• Proficiency with Microstation, AutoCAD, and AGi32 software.
• Working knowledge of traffic signal cabinets and other hardware.
