Wrights Dairy Farm and Bakery is Hiring a Full-Time Customer Service Associate Near Smithfield, RI

Position Summary

The Customer Service Associate has responsibility for waiting on customers at the pastry counter, knowledge of product description, availability, and pricing, order taking, register procedures, maintenance of display including dairy cooler, packaging of finished products, product rotation, answering phones, and cleaning.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Wait on customers promptly in a warm/friendly, quick, and efficient manner
  • Demonstrate superior customer service and positive culture to the team/customer
  • Demonstrate knowledge of product names, descriptions, pricing, and availability
  • Upsell and introduce products to customers while maintaining efficiency
  • Take orders that are clear and concise with attention to details
  • Understand and exercise all order pickup details
  • Total sales, accept payment and give change at the cash register
  • Provides a balance register drawer at the end of the shift
  • Keep product displays full and always appealing
  • Rotate products according to WDF standard operating procedures.
  • Answer phones in a professional manner and transfer calls correctly
  • Keep the workspace and customer service area clean and neat
  • Comply with health code relating to food service
  • Learn and use POS systems

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to demonstrate that the customer is the number one priority
  • Must be able to show initiative and be self-motivated
  • Must be reliable and dependable in all aspects of work
  • Is teamwork oriented and willing to help others get the work done
  • Is proficient at oral and written communication
  • Has excellent organizational skills demonstrated in the workplace
  • Maintains an acceptable personal appearance that adheres to the company dress code
  • Computer skills including Proficient with G suite

Qualifications

  • High School diploma, GED or related experience is preferred but not required.
  • Previous retail management or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must be available to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

While performing the essential job function for this position, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak clearly, must be able to stand for long periods of time, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl and climb during an entire shift. Must be able to lift and/or move items that weigh more than 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

This position operates in the retail business environment. This position routinely uses standard retail and office equipment such as digital cash registers, multi-line telephones, an intercom system and computers.
