Financial Analyst I

Job Description: The Financial Analyst I is responsible for assisting in the daily financial operations of the Company and supporting the strategic objectives of Wright Traffic Control, LLC. The Financial Analyst I will report to the Vice President of Professional Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Summarize the daily crew report and provide it to senior management.
  • Compile and provide the weekly overtime report.
  • Complete financial analysis of all offices to identify areas to reduce spending.
  • Prepare and update monthly depreciation schedules and reconcile to the accounting software.
  • Monitor, document, and summarize key performance indicators for each office as they relate to the corporate incentive plan.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership in planning the Company budget and financial projections. Make recommendations to improve reporting and budgetary processes.
  • Perform data entry of budgetary figures into accounting software.
  • Analyze budget versus actual variances and trends to assist leadership with business decisions.
  • Monitor the profitability of the organization and provide periodic reports to senior leadership.
  • Assist Senior Management with tasks to support a timely month-end closing process.
  • Extrapolate financial information from the accounting software as needed for internal and external reporting purposes.
  • Assist in the development of strategic plans for existing, new, or proposed business operations.
  • Collaborate with other Departments to resolve identified discrepancies and/or issues.
  • Monitor, maintain and update office lease information (i.e. leases, amendments, COIs, etc.)
  • Participate and/or lead special projects where a financial perspective is required or requested by senior management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance is required.
  • 1-3 years of financial analysis experience is preferred, but not required.
  • The ability to safeguard sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Ability to complete critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong overall business skills and a commonsense approach to issues
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
