II. POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Organize and set-up dies and punch presses including all accessories, fixtures, lubrication, cushions, etc. and produce a sample part in a time efficient manner.

III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (essential and other functions)

• Active involvement in promoting & maintaining a safe work environment.
• Set-Up punch presses.

Note: Ability to set-up one type of equipment or operation does not necessarily qualify an employee as a set-up person.

- Simple form and piercing die set-up = limited set-up ability

- Complex and progressive tool set-up in addition to above = full set-up ability

• Perform safety check upon completion of Set-Up.
• Produce parts as assigned by supervisor or lead person & according to the needed sequence.
• Ensure the quality of parts produced is equal to sample part.
• Record all necessary job information including start & stop time, #of parts produced, status of job, location of finished parts, etc.
• Ensure initial & periodic safety checks are completed.
• Ensure periodic part inspection is performed.
• Comply with all Company policies.
• Notify supervisor or lead person immediately of problems, concerns, or questions you may have.
• Keep work area clean & free of hazards.
• Follow special job instructions as communicated by supervisor or lead person or as on job card.
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead person.

IV. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Knowledge:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Working knowledge of shop math.

2. Experience:

Strong press operator experience required.

Set-Up experience preferred.

3. Ability/skills

Blueprint reading helpful.

High mechanical aptitude helpful.

Ability to read English as required for interpreting job cards and prints.

Willing and able to perform repetitive tasks.

Able and willing to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Safety and quality minded.

Effective communication with peers, management, and employees.

Team player, works with others to solve problems and helps others when assistance is needed.

V. WORKING CONDITIONS

• Fast paced, job shop and fabrication business.
• Ever changing priorities
• Occasional to frequent overtime.
• PPE required.
• Noise, dust, dirt, heat, cold in winter environment.

VI. LEVEL

• Works under moderate supervision.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
