The AP/AR Specialist (Accounting Specialist) is a detail-oriented individual, responsible for accurately processing all accounts payable, assisting with company billing, and collecting payments for all services provided by the company in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all trade payables, subcontract payables, rents, leases, & finance obligations as approved
• Ensure timely and accurate invoicing for services performed
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of payments from clients, and collection of all debts due to the company
• Research and resolve vendor statements, vendor inquiries, and client inquiries regarding billing and payments
• Prepare monthly general journal entries as assigned in support of monthly financial reporting
• Prepare reports in support of monthly financial statements and management reporting needs
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED)

• Two (2) to three (3) years previous accounting experience in accounts payable and receivable
• Previous experience with general ledger reconciliations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
• Must maintain a high degree of personal and professional integrity and honesty
• Able to think critically, analyze, define issues, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, develop plans & processes and execute them effectively with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy & thoroughness
• Able to read, write and speak English and respond to complex inquiries from internal and external customers
• Able to prioritize multiple simultaneous demands and work well under pressure
• Able to work independently and as a team member
• College level coursework in accounting and prior experience in logistics industry preferred
• Must be able to pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment
• Must be a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident with authorization to work in the United States
• This is an in office position located in Auburn, WA
