About the Role

The Commercial Manager is responsible for the provision of commercial insights to drive competitive advantage, business growth and sustainability of costs for business units within the VMLY&R Australia portfolio.

The role sits within the Agency Commercial team, reporting directly to the Finance Director and partnering with the business in identifying, modelling and developing execution initiatives aligned with strategic direction to drive long term profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Senior Business Partner support to the Agency Executive Team, which will include monitoring and presentation of results, and analysis on macro-capacity, working capital health, utilisation, pipeline and client account health
• Advising on impact of financial performance on broader business decisions (e.g. workforce management and recruitment)
• Support Agency Finance Manager in delivering budget and forecast for agency; work collaboratively with the Agency Finance Manager to develop key assumptions and initiatives
• Provide analytical and negotiation support to stakeholders to optimise commercial outcomes such as business case modelling, rate card analysis, deal structuring and negotiation, due diligence and integration
• Lead and develop the Commercial team by providing regular coaching, support and constructive performance feedback

Required Experience/Skills/Capabilities

• Accounting Qualifications (CA/CPA/ACCA)
• Strong Commercial Finance experience
• Approachable and confident collaborating with others
• Ability to work to deadlines
• Ability to think strategically, influence and drive outcomes across multiple stakeholder groups
• Collaborative and astute - able to build trust and respect within our network; great instincts about how and when to pursue a particular agenda and how to build alliances and momentum
• Mentor direct reports and the wider business staff
• Industry experience is advantageous but not essential
