Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

Serves as the local principal leader of a team that is dedicated to the property and controls the asset. Clearly recognizes and respects the significance of the property’s role within the community and its importance to the organization in the area of facilities management. Is focused upon driving growth, achieving best in class operational costs and building an organization with the culture and capabilities to execute:

  • Goal driven, maintains understanding of operational expectations and key performance indicators, seeking to drive positive results needed to reach organizational goals.
  • Tracks and maximizes the financial and operational efficiency of the property to include all income, expenses, capital improvements, budgets, forecasts, administrative, marketing, sales and traffic generation efforts.
  • Is focused upon and prioritizes measurable objectives that produce favorable returns to the investment of not only finances and funds, but also as it relates to dedication of time and resources.
  • Recruits, develops and motivates a high performing local team that is committed to a best in class operation by maintaining a positive culture and work environment.
  • Commands and communicates the daily and emergency operating requirements of the property, as well as formation of long-term strategic plans that ensure the provision of a quality and efficient property operation.
  • Heavily leverages regional and corporately provided support and resources to maximize effectiveness of all operations through the implementation of corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Oversees and manages daily facility operations to include focus upon staff resources, security, housekeeping, utilities and contracted services, adjusting as needed to ensure all provide quality but efficient results as it relates to both property standards and expense goals.
  • Adaptable to a constantly changing environment, the General Manager serves to influence and lead others to evolve as well.
  • Maintains an understanding of the broader local market and proactively communicates relevant and noteworthy developments and challenges with partners cross-functionally to include Property Management, Operations, Leasing, Specialty Leasing, Development and Marketing.
  • Serves as the spokesperson for the property within the community, through media interactions and via social media reputation management efforts.
  • Is highly regarded as a leader in the market, heavily influencing businesses, municipal entities, and philanthropic groups for the betterment of the community and property business objectives. Is the primary advocate for the property and is highly regarded as a dynamic presence by the corporate office, onsite associates, tenants and vendors, but also socially, charitable, municipal and educational to which the property serves.

Qualifications (Education and Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 – 10 years of retail, property/asset management experience
  • Microsoft Office proficient (Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, Outlook)
