WP Rawl is Hiring a Facilities Maintenance Technician Near Pelion, SC

We are currently in search of a Facilities Maintenance Technician supporting our processing facility in Pelion, SC. The Facilities Maintenance Technicians are responsible to maintaining and repairing machinery integral to Plant Operations under the direction of the Facilities Maintenance Technician. Pay is $24.00 - 28 a hour.
Duties:
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring on HVAC equipment.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance tasks and inspections on HVAC equipment.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with OSHA safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems (3 phase experience)
  • Ability to work with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) & Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), set up motor control panels.
  • Welding operations of regular and stainless steel a plus
  • Troubleshoot and installation of motors and pump
  • Ability to work in a cold environment (36-40 degrees) for extensive periods of time
Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Industrial equipment, including moving conveyors and other electrically energizes machinery
  • Heavy forklift traffic
  • Concrete flooring, often wet
  • Noise Level: High
  • Must be able to walk frequently on flat terrain
  • Must be able to perform repetitive motion
Qualifications:
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
  • High School diploma/GED
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience of manufacturing production maintenance experience
  • 2 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial electrical skills.
  • 3-5 years’ apprenticeship under a journeyperson preferred
  • Certification or associate’s degree from an HVAC program at a technical school required
  • Must hold state HVAC technician license
  • Previous on the job training a plus
  • Strong verbal communication skills, ability to explain complex HVAC issues
  • Basic mathematical knowledge required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to take direction orally and written
  • Bilingual - Spanish a plus
