Worthington Enterprises is Hiring a Weld Process Tech - 2nd Shift Near Warwick, RI

Summary

We are looking for a Welding Process Tech to join our team. The Welding Process Tech position is responsible for driving improvements specifically directed at Welding, safety, quality, productivity, and cost savings. This role must interact with other departments to ensure best possible finished product on a consistent basis. The Tech also provides knowledge and expertise in complex process welding systems and equipment by using systematic approaches to diagnose, locate and correct malfunctions. The ideal candidate is a detailed oriented, problem solver with a desire to drive the business through a strong work ethic and understanding of the requirements and needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Initiates and develops machine and process improvements.
  • Investigates safety, quality, and productivity problems.
  • Assists engineering and maintenance departments with schedule repairs, outages, projects.
  • Assists with various projects as necessary.
  • Instructs welders in subject areas such as mathematics, drawing, use and maintenance of tools and equipment, codes or regulations related to trade, and safety precautions.
  • Tests and evaluates achievement of welder in technical knowledge and trade skills to include welder performance qualifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • Extensive knowledge of the welding process (VT, manual and mechanical welding, troubleshooting, process set up)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all employees.
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Complete knowledge of weld equipment, operation, and capabilities
  • Complete knowledge of all welding processes and Codes
  • Excellent planning and logical reasoning skills
  • 5 years experience or equivalent knowledge
  • Safety and environmental training as deemed necessary (ISO, TS, OSHA, ASME)
  • Mechanical and electrical training as deemed necessary.
