Purpose:

  • Perform civil/structural design work from conceptual design to detailed design of onshore manufacturing projects.

Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare civil/structural design 2D drawings and 3D models based on engineering information, site data and customer requirements for:

oCivil/structural general arrangement..

oStructural pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, building and equipment supports, lift arrangements, paving/grading, underground pipe, foundations, etc.

  • Prepare structural Material Take-offs..
  • Provide technical support to the project team.
  • Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple. solutions, and makes recommendations to support official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc..
  • Coordinate with structural engineering team and gather information from other disciplines, with knowledge of the impact of other disciplines design data on structural design.
  • Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, considers safety, constructability, operability, and maintainability into design.
  • Other responsibilities include preparing as-built drawings, design and detailing new components from previous designs.
  • Work with global integrated delivery team (GID).
  • 3D Model

oCreate 3D model to Client Specifications.

oEnsure objects are placed in correct hierarchy.

oEnsure all attributes are set.

oComplete Modeling Checklists.

oRun Clash Check and resolve all clashes before submitting check prints.

oRun MTO/Weight reports for Structures in an area.

  • Develop 2D Drawings

oDevelop all necessary drawings and details to ensure complete fabrication.

oComplete Checklists..

oEnsure drawings incorporate all engineering review comments.

oEnsure drawings incorporate all Client review comments..

oEnsure all drawing attributes are set.

  • Position is based in Baton Rouge, LA.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements: 

  • Strong working knowledge of PDMS/E3D and AutoCAD – Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • CADWorx experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, codes, manufacturing standards, and industry standard practices for the control, development, and application of deliverables..
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with other designers and engineers to achieve an optimal drawing product.
  • Successful candidates will be self-starters with an aptitude for problem solving and innovation and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. They must be capable of working with a team on a large project..
  • Ability to obtain and maintain TWIC card and pass background checks.
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training: 

Required: 

  • A diploma in Engineering design and drafting.

Preferred:

  • Equivalent degree in Engineering design and drafting.
