Position Title: Project Engineer, NeXT Autonomous Digital Mine

Purpose:

As a member of the Customer Solutions Team, the NeXT Autonomous Digital Mine Project Engineer will lead resources including SME's, technicians, and data scientists to deliver the expected technical results relating to digital services to mines (automation, robotics, networks). May, when appropriate, solely execute the work scope.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads and executes the technical aspects of a project scope by coordinating the efforts of SME's, technicians, and data scientists.
  • For smaller projects may solely execute technical scope appropriate to personal skills and experience.
  • Understands and applies industry standards and specifications.
  • Within defined parameters, has the latitude to consider whether new procedures may have to be developed.
  • Typically leads others as a direct supervisor or through the recognition of functional expertise within the department.

What you will bring

Technical and Industry Experience: 

  • Experience deploying Digital/Technology solutions in an industrial environment.
  • Requires the ability to work independently and to provide consultative advice within specific functional areas.
  • Possesses advanced analytical, technical and problem-solving skills and abilities.
  • Can quickly develop strong awareness of larger team/department strategies.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint).
  • Can organize information from many sources and retain as per the prescribed format and policies.
  • Capable in Power BI is an asset.
  • Capable of coordinating the strengths of individual experts to deliver an integrated technical solution.
  • Clear and concise report writer.
  • Identify and ensure that key project documentation is correctly captured.
  • Knowledgeable of all aspects of providing value through Industry 4.0 solutions.
  • Experience working in Mining, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, LNG, or Renewables.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • A certificate or diploma in a relevant field such as Engineering, Automation, Mining, Digital Technology, or Data Science.
