Worldwide Recovery Systems is a leader in the industrial and hazardous waste industry! We have immediate need for 12 full-time dock/warehouseworkers (1 day shift, 1 swing-shift) at our Pomona, CA facility.

Description of Duties:

• Load and unload freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, drum dollies, grabbers, etc.
• Prepare, inspect, and clean trailers before loading freight
• Strap and secure freight to prevent damage or shifting
• Responsible for accurately recording the condition of freight as it arrives at the terminal
• Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment
• Properly and efficiently completes all necessary paperwork required by law, regulation or Company policy
• Verifies the load against the shipping papers, noting in writing any overages, shortages or damages
• Comprehends and complies with hazardous materials regulations and emergency responses
• Communicates with supervision regularly to report conditions
• Sweeps or cleans up dock and equipment

Qualifications: 18 years of age or older

• Ability to understand and implement safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures
• Ability to work on non-forgiving surfaces and/or in adverse weather conditions at times
• Experience safely operating a fork lift and other freight handling equipment
• Can perform the work required in a timely manner and maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedules
• High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background
• This is a physicaljob! Physical activities include:standing, walking on uneven surfaces, lifting, twisting, turning, sitting,pulling, etc.
• Must have the ability towork periodic overtime and weekends; must be dependable
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct
• Must be able to interact well with others
• Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting
• Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as manifests, safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines
• Successful applicants must pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and physical exam
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Experience in the transportation and/or hazardous waste industry preferred
• HAZWOPER training preferred
• Stable employment history preferred
