World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks a Communications Intern, Earth for Life.

Major Function

This six-month, part-time, paid internship is based in the US and will provide an opportunity for a graduate student or college-level rising senior to support programmatic communications and provide general communications support for a team focused on long-term, large-scale area-based conservation and the benefits those initiatives can generate for communities, climate, and biodiversity. We’re looking for candidates who are passionate about communications, conservation, and communities with experience making complex topics accessible, a history of leadership, and an eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Supports the implementation of the communications strategies and tactics related to the Earth for Life team’s scope.
• Assists with communications projects in support of team communication and program goals, including supporting the production of communications assets and event engagement, ensuring consistent messaging for key external and internal audiences.
• Collaborates with WWF colleagues and external partners to create communications products and contributes to a library of communications materials, including talking points, messaging documents, presentation decks, reports, and fact banks.
• Supports internal knowledge management to promote collaboration and internal technical capacities, including the development of internal learning activities.
• Performs other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• College-level rising senior or graduate student, preferably majoring in communications, international studies, or other relevant subjects ideally related to conservation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Spanish proficiency is preferred.
• Interest in the intersections of conservation, Indigenous peoples and local communities, sustainable development, and sustainable finance.
• Solutions-oriented and proactive in creative critical thinking.
• Strong relational skills with a willingness to work both collaboratively and independently.
• Committed to building and strengthening a culture of inclusion within and across teams.

Compensation

$21 an hour for candidates with undergraduate degrees or graduate students; or up to $25 an hour for candidates with a graduate degree.

Part-time, 20 hours a week.

US Remote – WWF employs interns in all states with the exception of: Hawaii, Idaho, Kentucky, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, Wyoming.
