Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven experience with selling solutions internally or directly to customers.
  • Experience as a full stack developer, with hands-on experience in DevSecOps practices with primary focus on AppSec.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Sonatype Nexus, or others.
  • Demonstrated experience with software security, secure coding, or software assurance tools and techniques preferred.
  • Proven track record with numerous pre-sales success stories.
  • Technical acumen to develop and deliver documentation and presentation.
  • Ability to host architecture and design discussions.
  • Capability in developing Cloud and AppSec solutions.

Experience, Education, and Certifications Desired:

  • 10 years as a AppSec Solution Engineer or equivalent position.
  • Any degrees from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Advanced security certifications preferred. (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, CISA...)
  • Experience with two or more public cloud providers, one of which must be Azure or AWS.

What will you be doing?

As a seasoned application security professional or a DevOps architect, your expertise is invaluable for supporting our strategy and roadmap that ensures our customers development processes incorporate state-of-the-art security practices. In the position of Technical Solutions Architect, you'll be pivotal in leading the charge toward fortified DevSecOps practices and enhancing our customers Software Supply Chain Security (SSCS) program.
Your mission is clear: As a thought leader you will support and take part in constantly evolving our strategy to boost awareness and adoption of cutting-edge security tools within the CI/CD pipeline, spanning DevSecOps, SSCS, and application security (AppSec) maturity. As a vital member of our team, you will be a customer facing Subject Matter Expert influencing the integration of security measures from the initial coding phase to deployment and runtime, championing the establishment of a robust and adaptable Secure SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) for applications regardless of where the applications live.
You will be tasked with devising comprehensive strategies and hands-on solutions across a variety of domains including application and API security, *AST scanning, ASPM, secret detection, container safeguarding, penetration testing, and others. Your remit will also cover the advancement of real-time defenses such as Web Application Firewalls (WAF), comprehensive application and API protection (WAAP), and solutions for thwarting Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and BOT exploitation. A key part of your role will involve streamlining communication and aiding our sales team in understanding and promoting our vendor partnerships.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role as you will work closely with both internal teams and our clients to create and implement bespoke multi-vendor solutions for some of the largest organizations globally. Your expertise will not be limited to the technical realm; you will be a thought leader, contributing insights through speaking engagements, writing articles, podcast appearances, and conference participation.
Keeping abreast of the latest market trends, standards, and best practices in DevSecOps and Software Supply Chain Security is critical. This knowledge will empower you to craft proposals and presentations that resonate with our customers, account teams, and vendor partners, establishing yourself as the definitive advisor in DevSecOps, AppSec, and SSCS.
Additionally, your role involves educating our account teams about DevSecOps, AppSec, and SSCS, and ensuring continuous engagement with a network of vendors and industry specialists. Your contributions will be instrumental in shaping both WWT and our customers strategies and future around application security, software supply chain, and artificial intelligence.
In our Advanced Technology Center (ATC), your involvement will be crucial in designing and implementing labs that foster the development of use cases, documentation, and demos. You will support the creation of technical sales tools and documents to guide clients effectively and in a way no other partner can.
As an expert consultant, you will be directly engaging with clients to conduct use case demos, roadmap discussions, and comprehend their challenges, delivering secure and scalable solutions that drive substantial business value.
Finally, you will help customers integrate and make the most of their current technologies, guide them in selecting the right products, and suggest bundling strategies to enhance their security posture. You'll also set the framework for successful proof-of-concept (POC) engagements and customer interactions.

In essence, as a Technical Solutions Architect III, your guidance and expertise in AppSec and DevSecOps will be crucial in navigating the complex landscape of application security, artificial intelligence, and SSCS. Your leadership will be key to securing our processes and delivering outstanding value to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a self-driven and motivated team player to help other team members and our customers overcome AppSec and reference Secure By Design principles
  • Provide a GTM strategy and share messaging around AppSec, DevSecOps, and Secure Coding practices from Code to runtime.
  • Develop and promote best practices for ensuring secure code development and consideration for AppSec across all environments and programs.
  • Produce strategic and tactical solutions around AppSec and broader SSCS
  • Simplify messaging and assist in vendor rationalization and enablement for field sales teams with focus on Application and API Security and AI
  • Build pragmatic roadmaps supporting secure business outcomes based on in-depth pre-sales discovery sessions.
  • Establish relationships with regional sales teams as the SME for AppSec, DevSecOps, and SSCS.
  • Work with internal and external teams to address client requirements.
  • Create functional multi-vendor architectures and solutions.
  • Engage in thought leadership activities: event speaking, blog posts, podcasts, conference attendance.
  • Stay up to date on Application and API Security market and trends, standards, and best practices.
  • Use your experience in threat modeling to carry in-depth conversations with customer around their threat modeling practice.
  • Help create proposals and presentations aligned with account teams and vendors.
  • Maintain client relationship as the go-to expert around AppSec and SSCS Security.
  • Learn, Understand and Evangelize WWT's differentiators.
  • Familiarize WWT account teams with AppSec and SSCS Security. Provide practice messaging updates regularly to sales teams.
  • Participate in the design & buildout of labs in our ATC
  • Collect and build Use Case Development, Documentation and Demonstration functions.
  • Assist with Technical Sales Tools and Technical Documentation:
    • Sizing guidelines
    • Best Practice Guides
    • Integration Guides
    • Reference Architectures
  • Provide strategic cloud and app security consultation to WWT clients:
    • Discussion and Use Case Demonstrations
    • Roadmap discussions
    • Understand customer challenges, how WWT can help, why our secure solutions and outcomes bring our customers business value
    • Automation experience around IaC and Platform Engineering preferred (Ansible, Terraform, etc.)
  • Understand and suggest complementary solutions with existing technology:
    • SKU Guidance
    • Bundling Strategies
  • Define POC and Customer Success Criteria for bakeoffs or testing
