MIDDLE SCHOOL ELA Teacher- 2024/2025 School Year

Job Summary: The English Language Arts teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment that develops in each student the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing that are fundamental to literate citizenship. The ELA teacher supports the development and appreciation of good literature of all types, motivates students to read widely for information and recreation, develops standards for critical judgment of written and oral communications, and discovers and develops special talents of students and is attentive to students’ individual and special needs.

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

• Plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential.
• Create Unit Plans using a backwards planning methodology
• Clearly communicate daily lesson objectives
• Assess student progress and growth using both formal and informal assessment
• Effectively implement and adhere to individual student learning plans

Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in education and/or English Language Arts or a related field. Teaching License. Teaching Experience Preferred

Salary: $52,000 to $65,000.00 /year dependent upon years of teaching experience and education level
