What You Will Do as a Merchandiser: This position exists to develop market driven products that exceed customers’ and consumers’ expectations. This role is responsible for executing the functions necessary to provide greater speed to market through product development and maintenance of assigned product lines. How You Will Make a Difference: Creates and maintains all product level data for the lifecycle of the garment from product set up to deletion from the product line Manages flow of product developments as specified; creates and maintains product / project calendar(s) Maintains all relevant data in the appropriate tracking system Effectively communicates all product level information to all internal stakeholders; manages relationships and communication flow Gathers and prepares presentation materials for customer and / or internal meetings, to include samples, reports, etc. Line reviews or product presentation may be required. Identifies and manages specific projects as needed, according to the agreed upon timeline Potential management of intern(s) when applicable Skills for Success: Preferred Years of Related Professional Experience: 3-5 Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience in apparel manufacturing or merchandising Self-motivated, can accomplish objectives without supervision Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, internal systems, calendars) Strong communication skills (oral, presentation, written, interpersonal) Accuracy: attention to detail, strong organizational skills, with strong sense of urgency Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, respond effectively to multiple demands, and balance / prioritize competing needs to meet objectives and deadlines Knowledge of garment construction, fabric development, fabric and garment care preferred Seeks direction, responds positively and readily adapts to change in the work environment; changes behavior in response to feedback and learns from experience Ability to make basic business calculations such as margin, markup, turnover, and yield Travel is required; amount varies Workwear Outfitters is a leading supplier of innovative work apparel and footwear for diverse occupations.
