Title: Data Engineer (Oracle SQL tuning and PL/SQL ETL)
Location: Merrimack, NH
Duration: 12 months
Must Have's: Strong Oracle SQL tuning and PL/SQL development (~70%)
Any ETL tool (Informatica, SSI, TeraData, SnapLogic) (~10%)
Familiarity with Autosys and/or Control M (scheduling tools)
Nice to Have's: AWS/EKS CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub) Python/Snowflake/Apex
OverviewAsset Management Technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer passionate about developing Data Engineering solutions to support Strategic Advisors business needs. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for data analysis, database and ETL development, testing, and deploying code to various environments. An ideal candidate for this role would be obsessive about analyzing data needs, striving to improve data quality, and contributing to deliver innovative data solutions to our Strategic Advisor partners. This position is available in Boston, Merrimack, Raleigh, Smithfield, and Westlake.
The Expertise You Have- 5 years of recent experience as an Oracle Data Engineer, and ETL Developer
- B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical/engineering field
- Hands on and in-depth working experience in SQL tuning and Oracle PL/SQL development
- Working experience with Informatica for ETL, Linux shell scripts, and Autosys is a big plus
- Interest in writing clean, testable, readable, and easily maintainable code
- Proven ability in developing Data APIs to support varied application requirements
- Exposure to GitHub, Jenkins, and uDeploy is desirable
- Demonstrable experience with data analysis and database design.
- Experience in native AWS services, Snowflake, and Python is preferable
- Experience working in agile methodology, providing production (L3) support, and working as part of geographically distributed teams is desirable
- Finance and Investing domain experience will be a plus
- Knowledgeable about modern data pipelines, data streaming, and messaging technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills as you will present to everyone from entry-level employees to executives.
- An ability to explain complicated or technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences.
- Able to set realistic expectations, prioritize within a dynamic and shifting environments, sensitivity to clients' needs and a competence at developing relationships and engaging users.
- A curiosity and passion about data, visualization and solving problems.
- Willingness to question the validity, accuracy of data and assumptions.
- You are eager to learn and deliver in a fast-paced environment and thrill the users.
- Working closely with the analysts/business partners to understand the business problem
- Designing, developing, and supporting quality solutions that aligns with the technology blueprint and standard methodologies to solve business problems
- Actively participating in activities like innovation days, code, and design reviews, exploring emerging technologies etc.
