Job Description

Environmental and Sustainability Manager

Principle Responsibilities

 Develops, implements, and maintains procedures and programs to minimize environmental risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

 Develops, implements, and maintains procedures and programs to achieve waste stream identification, as well as the reduction, elimination, and efficient

 use of resources.

Standard Duties

Environmental:

- Plans and implements environmental policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations.

- Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in hazardous waste management practices

- Manages and implements remedial action plan activities.

- Assesses the environmental considerations of new processes and devises procedures accordingly.

- Evaluates current and proposed codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines to determine the impact on current and future programs and

activities.

- Prepares and submits mandatory environmental reports (e.g. TIER 2, Hazardous Waste Biennial Report), as applicable, to government agencies.

- Inspects Precision facilities and job sites to detect any potential environmental discrepancies and determines corrective / preventive measures

and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

- Acts as the primary emergency coordinator to implement emergency response measures as needed during spills, leaks or other releases of an

identified hazardous material or waste.

- Responsible for insuring the availability of emergency equipment and supplies, and for related training.

- Responsible for regulatory agency coordination during inspections.

- Responsible for identification, inspection, handling, storing, record keeping, transportation and disposal of hazardous waste.

- Responsible for keeping / maintaining various environmental logs used to verify environmental compliance.

- Maintains required permits.

 Requirements

Bachelor's degree (B.A) in Industrial Safety or Environmental Science or equivalent; plus, four to ten years related experience and/or training.

Master's Degree preferable.

Capabilities

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to

common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and

articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Internet software;

Project Management software and Database software.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is

occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.The employee must regularly lift and /or

move up to 25 pounds.
