Working Fields is Hiring a Remote Peer Coach (remote)

Working Fields is seeking Peer Coaches for part-time peer coaching assignments in Franklin County, MA. This is a 1099 contractor position, with flexible schedule and opportunity for hybrid or fully remote work. Please apply to secondchances@workingfields.com.
Working Fields uses a peer coaching model to provide support to our associates. For associates not in recovery, the peer coach functions as a life coach using the same approach. So, what is it?
  • Peer coaching is one of the support systems an individual can use to help navigate the days of early recovery or other life challenges. A peer coach's primary purpose is to create a supportive environment around an individual’s personal recovery or life plan.
  • Coaches help develop a personal plan by using motivational interviewing skills and conducting an assessment of various domains of a person’s recovery. These domains include physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing along with basic life issues such as housing, employment, financial, transportation, food and staples, health insurance, and any other area that may be a concern to a person’s wellbeing.
  • A coach does not counsel or direct but rather provides support and helps the person stay accountable to their plan. A coach also helps refer or connect individuals to resources in the community that will be helpful to address specific needs.
In the end, a peer coach provides a level of support that gives an individual a better chance of success in early recovery and overcoming life challenges. We will provide training in peer coaching practices to the right candidate.
Peer support is most impactful when our coaching team reflects the breadth of our employees’ lived experiences. LGBTQIA people and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply.
