Responsibilities: - Direct traffic at construction sites, following established safety protocols - Set up signs, cones, and barricades to guide traffic - Communicate with construction crews to coordinate traffic flow - Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control measures as needed - Provide clear and concise directions to drivers to ensure their safety and the safety of others - Report any incidents or issues to supervisors or law enforcement as necessary - Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with the public Skills: To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills: - Proficient in heavy equipment operation, including bulldozers, backhoes, graders, loaders, dump trucks, front loader trucks, and utility locating equipment - Strong knowledge of traffic control procedures and regulations - Excellent communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with drivers - Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations - Attention to detail to ensure accurate placement of signs and barricades - Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and work in various weather conditions Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
