About us
At Workforce Network, Inc. (WNI) we deliver workforce development programs to Burnet, Llano, and Blanco counties with a focus on Skilled Trades, Healthcare, and Accounting/Information Technology sectors. Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area (WSRCA) has contracted WNI to implement job training and placement programs to meet the performance standards of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Good Jobs Challenge grant. The standards for our three counties include placing 325 adults in one of eleven occupations in our focus sectors by 2026-year end.
About the role
§ The Coordinator develops stakeholders in the assigned county and implements job training and placement programs for the assigned sector while meeting all grant requirements under the direction of WSRCA.
§ Full-time salary. Minimum forty hours per week which may include nights and some Saturdays. Flexibility in hours and blended home or office workplace if Coordinator is accessible to internal staff and external clients/partners during business hours.
Responsibilities under the direction and approval of Director
1. Create or scale job training programs to meet the recruitment, training, job placement and equity targets for each occupation within time and budget constraints. Orchestrate all required elements of a training program, as needed, including training providers, curricula, instructors, facilities, equipment, and supplies.
2. Document employer participation, student training-to-placement statistics, and Sector Partnership activities utilizing the provided online tools such as AGS Prime and Monthly Reports within weekly and monthly due dates.
3. Serve as a subject matter specialist to internal and external audiences for assigned occupations. Learn industry-valued credentials, certification/licensing requirements, labor market information, training providers, skills and knowledge needed by employers, and career paths for workers.
4. Develop professional relationships with county and sector stakeholders. Foster Sector Partnerships toward employer/stakeholder ownership of mutually defined workforce initiatives.
5. Execute an awareness campaign for the assigned county aimed at increasing public visibility about our mission, why it matters, and how we need their support. Influence the public and stakeholders to invest resources to establish and sustain workforce development projects.
Job requirements
§ Previous experience in workforce training, grant/project management, or business development. Prefer 2 years’ experience with a nonprofit.
§ High school diploma or equivalent plus some post-secondary education.
§ Valid driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
§ Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
§ Competence in planning, organizing, managing, and evaluating programmatic progress.
