Looking for experienced dry wall technician (3-4 years minimum experience) to work with a general contracting company responsible for the efficient operations, upkeep and repair of various commercial buildings along the Wasatch Front. This position would work in a supportive role under the direction of supervisory personnel and will be responsible for the daily repair and upkeep of the properties, the preparation of vacant units for occupancy and the completion of other construction tasks on various construction projects. This position will also be responsible for the care, maintenance and inventory of all supplies and equipment owned by the company.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Must have own hand tools
• 3 years of commercial or industrial drywall finishing experience (preferred)
• Completion of an apprenticeship or training program (preferred)
• Construction environment experience
• Physical stamina to perform tasks
• Comfortable working on tall ladders or scaffolding
• Attention to detail
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team
• Must be able to manage a team
• Must be willing to train

Responsibilities:

• Measure and cut drywall for installation according to client specifications
• Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes for electrical outlets, air- conditioning units, and plumbing systems
• Attach sheets to wall studs or metal frames
• Finish panels by filling cracks with plaster
• Use power tools to sand panels and remove irregularities
• Prepare panels for painting by taping or finishing joints
• Set up and take down scaffolding for larger jobs
• Assist with drywall hanging
