JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Bar straightener

Summary of Job :

Load, Operate, Unload a bar machine straightening machine. Responsible for locating proper steel, band the material after straightening, enter pertinent information into the computer and put the material in a location in the yard.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

• Locate material in the yard to run based on the schedule and tags on the material.
• Set up Machine straightener
• Adjust machine as required to maintain a straight bar
• Band Bars using pneumatic banding tools and steel banding.
• Fill out production paperwork.
• Enter production into the computer system.
• Move completed material out into the yard for storage
• Maintain a clean work environment

Other Duties :

• Monitor coolant levels in machine and add coolant as required
• Daily Hilo inspection
• Use hand grinder

Education, Experience, Training and / or Skills Required :

• Fork truck license
• High school or equivalent
• Basic computer skills
