Because of our growth, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager (A/R Manager).

The Accounts Receivable Manager is responsible for their team and leading the firm's collections activities for 13 entities (both US and International), including future acquisitions. This role includes overseeing a team as well as non-integrated entity collection efforts, monitoring accounts receivable, coordinating client communication for overdue payments, and escalating complex issues appropriately.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

People Management (Primary Focus): Responsible for supervising, managing and motivating team members daily to function in a goal-oriented manner. Through supportive leadership, create an inspiring and trusting team environment promoting the growth of team members with an open communication culture. Utilize their expertise, their peers, influence, and/or creativeness to formulate smooth team operations and effective collaboration. Responsible for effective planning and scheduling of workload and performance of team members. Ensures team is right-sized and right-skilled. Interview and hire team members. Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts, escalating issues as needed. Provide ongoing training and coaching to team members. Has full people managerial responsibilities (goal setting, training plans, performance development reviews, pay decisions, termination, discipline, staffing, etc.) and partners with Human Resources for strategic people management duties. Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance collections processes for greater efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain company standard aging targets.
  • Maintains lead point of contact for Collections for any required monthly firm-wide
  • Allocate tasks to the collections team aligning with accounting department objectives.
  • Ensure timely payment collection.
  • Collaborate with accounting staff to resolve unapplied payments.
  • Address invoicing issues in collaboration with project accountants during collections.
  • Understand client specifics by working with project accountants and project managers.
  • Liaise with other departments and entities as necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with Project Accountants, Project Managers, Sector Leaders and non-integrated entities.
  • Handle customer escalations from the collections team.
  • Escalate uncollectable debts to legal.
  • Locate client and partner contact details using online tools; update information in AEG 365.
  • Maintain records of interactions and payments in AEG 365’s Collections Module.
  • Works with Accounting and Project Financial Support Team Leaders to maintain a strong financial support group.
  • Stays up to date with any AEG/ERP testing and training required to manage the Collections processes and procedures.
  • Strives to sustain and enhance trust-built culture to retain and motivate top performers, attract new talent and acquisitions to support continued growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Preference for experience in client collections.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Effective communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work well with all management levels, clients, and employees.
  • Strong customer service, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Competence in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to understand complex financial documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Negotiation, conflict management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Credit & Collections experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Capability to perform all essential job duties.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and operate standard office equipment.
  • Occasional need to reach, bend, and lift/move items up to 40 pounds.
