Description
The primary responsibility of the Food Runner is to promptly deliver food to members and guests in a friendly, professional and knowledgeable manner. The Food Runner should be able to anticipate member and/or guest requests that may need to accompany any given food item. The Food Runner is the connection between the front of the house and the back of the house during Pool Season.
Duties / Responsibilities
- Knowledge of ingredients in each menu item and be able to recite this information to the members and/or guests when questioned
- Attends to all members and/or guests – anticipates rather than making the member and/or guest ask for assistance
- Delivers food to members and/or quickly and efficiently
- Works diligently and communicates efficiently with other Food Drink staff to help coordinate member orders for food from the Kitchen
- Learns member names whenever possible
- Assists Main Pool by busing tubs and dirty glassware, and the Adult Pool with bus tubs
- Assists with food prep and dishwashing
- May at times be asked to support special events within Club
- Maintains clean, organized and visually appealing areas in and around all food drink outlets
- Moves throughout the shift with purpose
- Attends to all members and/or guests
- Complies with Club’s employee handbook manual, departmental policies and procedures and with all applicable federal and state employment laws
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Education/
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience is preferred
- Must be reliable and timely for all shifts

- Outgoing and friendly personality
- Ability to use computers and related technology efficiently
- Time management and organizations skills: ability to multitask in fast paced environment

Special Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk and climb stairs multiple times during entire shift
- Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, and stoop
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Frequently wash hands
- Regular and predictable attendance is required
- Ability to move or lift as much as 30 pounds or more on a regular basis
- Ability to communicate well both verbally and in written form
- Interest in wellness and/or fitness is a plus
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work
- Ability to work under pressure and in varying heat conditions inside the kitchen and out at the pool areas
Working Conditions:
- Operates in and around pool area in extreme weather conditions walking and standing
- Required to work both in and outside in high heat summer temperatures
- Working in around lots of people where noise levels can be excessive
- Flexible and changing working hours – must be available per business needs
- Schedule will vary based on weather and the needs of the business, particularly for special events, promotions, etc.
- Hazards may include, but are not limited to: minor cuts, slipping and tripping
