Investigate and report incidents of child abuse and neglect.
Provide crisis intervention.
Assist the Principal in coordinating the building crisis team.
Prepare a social developmental study in a case study evaluation.
Participate in IEP conferences including the preparation of IEP goals and objectives.
Participate in Teacher Collaboration Team meetings.
Provide consultation and inservice to staff regarding social/emotional needs of students.
Participate in the identification of students who require intervention.
Provide direct services to students and families.
Serve as a liaison between homes, schools, hospitals, social welfare agencies, therapists, alternative schools, preschools, parochial schools, public schools and others as needed.
Prepare and submit reports regarding the social work program when appropriate.
Expand knowledge in areas related to the job role as Social Worker, (including technology applications) by such means as reading current literature on students with special education eeds, attending professional conferences and workshops and collaborating with other professionals doing similar work.
