Woodland Public Schools - Emergency Certificated Substitute

Position Title: Emergency Certificated Substitute
Posting: 3270
Location: Woodland School District
Days/Hrs: 6.25 hrs. with unpaid prep. If asked to work their prep, you will be paid additional pay, $32.00 for a full day.
Pay Schedule: The current rate of pay for certified substitutes is $212 per day or $127 for a half-day. Certificated subs who complete 25 full workdays in day-to-day or short-term substitute assignments (two half days equal one full day) during the first semester will receive an increased rate of $232 per full day and $137 per half day in the second semester. Certificated subs who travel to Yale Elementary will receive an additional $20 travel bonus per day.Job Summary: Emergency Certificated Substitutes are on-call, as needed to fill in for teachers who are absent for various reasons.

  • If these trainings have already been completed for another school district, completion certificates dated after August 1, 2018 will be accepted.
Qualifications:
  • Possess a bachelors degree (valid WA teaching certificate is not required to apply). Once approved through this application process you will need to go through process of applying for and receiving an emergency certificate from OSPI for Woodland Public Schools (BA and recommendation from Woodland Superintendent is all that is required). Emergency certificates must be applied for and approved for each individual district before you can work in that district
  • Successful experience working with youth
  • Successful experience working with diverse populations
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of teaching techniques which are used to maximize student learning
  • Ability to work cooperatively with students and their parents who are culturally, racially, and linguistically diverse
  • Comfortable working in a collaborative environment in a program focused on improving student learning
  • Ability to work in a semi-open or self-contained classroom
  • Ability to work with an educational team including directing the work of paraeducators
