Woodgrain is Hiring a Safety Specialist Near Leesburg, GA

Position Summary:

The Safety Specialist will be responsible for conducting inspections, audits, and hazard assessments in a manufacturing environment. The Safety Specialist will partner with managers, supervisors, and employees on Hazard identification, safety policy and procedure execution. The Safety Specialist will provide education and feedback to employees on safe work practices that include lock out tag out, machine guarding, ergonomics, personal protection equipment, hot works, confined space, and forklift safety. The position requires significant time on the production floor engaging line management and department personnel through coaching, training, and reinforcement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support company and site-specific safety programs.
  • Ensure the facility is in compliance with all OSHA standards.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and corrective action tracking.
  • Co-Chair monthly safety committee meetings.
  • Support departments in corrective action completion and safety communications.
  • Provide weekly reports on activities and observations.
  • Conduct and document JSAs and Ergonomic Risk Assessments.
  • Act as a safety resource to employees.
  • Be an active member of the site’s emergency response team.
  • Provide first aid assistance to employees.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations(OSHA, ANSI).

Proficiency in office computer applications.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to execute action plans.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

High attention to detail

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The individual must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
