Position Summary:
The Safety Specialist will be responsible for conducting inspections, audits, and hazard assessments in a manufacturing environment. The Safety Specialist will partner with managers, supervisors, and employees on Hazard identification, safety policy and procedure execution. The Safety Specialist will provide education and feedback to employees on safe work practices that include lock out tag out, machine guarding, ergonomics, personal protection equipment, hot works, confined space, and forklift safety. The position requires significant time on the production floor engaging line management and department personnel through coaching, training, and reinforcement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations(OSHA, ANSI).
Proficiency in office computer applications.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The individual must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
