Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our private practice!

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. You will assist veterinarian in various procedures and treatments, ensuring the well-being and comfort of our furry friends.

You do not need to be a CVT/LVT to apply for this opportunity!

Job Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarian in the exam room, surgical procedures, and other tasks.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Perform laboratory tests, such as blood work and urinalysis, and interpret results
- Prepare animals for surgery, including pre-operative preparation and post-operative care
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Take and develop radiographs (x-rays)
- Provide nursing care to hospitalized animals
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, medication administration, and post-treatment instructions
- Clean and maintain equipment, exam rooms, and treatment areas
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies

Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a technician or assistant is highly desirable, or in veterinary medicine
- Strong knowledge of pet care practices and veterinary medicine
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures and techniques
- Skilled in animal handling and restraint techniques for various species (dogs, cats, equine)
- Experience with animal catheterization and aseptic technique is a plus
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate pet owners effectively
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail

We are open Monday through Saturday, hoping for a candidate who can provide 40 hours a week as well as weekends.
